Charlestown, located in the aptly named Ocean State, has so much to offer during all seasons!  

 

Within a mile of the cabin you can bike or walk to nearby Charlestown Town Beach as well as several restaurants, shops, and hiking trails.  Close by are many more beaches, trails, golf courses, fishing, kayaking, surfing, shopping, casinos, birding, National Wildlife refuges, art/craft/food/music festivals, University of Rhode Island campus, theatres, bike paths and hiking trails, and dark skies observatory for Friday night star gazing. 

 

Recommended day-trip destinations: Newport, Mystic Seaport, Providence, Blackstone River Valley, and Block Island 

 

Nearby restaurants proudly serve local caught seafood for delicious and delightful lunches and dinners; many locations offer summer al fresco dining, both casual and more formal.  See below for restaurant recommendations.

 

Area shops, boutiques and galleries are filled with gifts, fashions, jewelry, art, home accents and things for children.   A Shore Thing, Mills Creek, Charlestown Gallery, Simple Pleasures and The Fantastic Umbrella Factory are a few of our favorite places to visit for art, fun, and shopping.
